True Jesus Church International – Solar PV & Battery Installation

The Challenge

True Jesus Church International sought to decarbonise its weekly community services and gatherings while also reducing long-term energy costs. The project site, located at Northumberland Business Park, presented design and installation challenges due to a high building with multiple roof faces. Ensuring maximum system efficiency required careful design, planning, and execution.

Our Solution

Blue Leaf Energy designed and installed a 61 kWp Solar PV system alongside a 24 kWh Alpha battery storage solution. The system included:

• 136 solar panels installed across multiple roof orientations, optimised for maximum generation.
• A Solax inverter solution to ensure reliable and efficient energy conversion.
• 24 kWh of battery storage to capture surplus generation and reduce peak-time grid reliance.
• A carefully engineered system design to overcome the complexity of the building’s roof structure while ensuring safety and long-term performance.

Funding & Support

This project was self-funded by the client, with Blue Leaf Energy providing full design, installation, and commissioning services.

The Results

• Forecasted 74% reduction in electricity consumption.
• 51,456 kWh of clean energy generated annually.
• 13.01 tonnes of CO₂ saved each year, directly contributing to decarbonisation goals.
• Improved long-term energy efficiency and operational cost savings for the church community.

Impact

The installation has enabled True Jesus Church International to significantly reduce its reliance on grid electricity while lowering its carbon footprint. The addition of battery storage allows the church to maximise use of on-site renewable generation, supporting sustainability across its community activities and ensuring a cost-effective energy strategy for the future.
